Olokun is the deep-sea god of the Yoruba people. He is believed to represent prosperity, wealth and deep secret knowledge kept in the ocean’s depths.

Our Founder / CEO
Byron L. Spires is the Founder and CEO of Olokun Consulting and is a seasoned, innovative engineer with over 34 years of professional experience. Starting out as an Electronics Engineer, he became fascinated with how microprocessors were controlled and turned to his other childhood passion, Software Engineering. Byron led a successful career writing code, testing, and managing the development of software products at several big name companies. Byron learned early that a focus on software quality led to not only to technically better software but highly satisfied customers, so he obtained training in the most advanced and proven software development techniques from traditional waterfall and CMMI to Lean, LeSS, Agile and Scaled Agile, using XP, TDD, BDD, Scrum and Kanban. Byron is a Certified Scrum Product Owner, Certified Scrum Master, Advanced Certified Scrum Master and a Certified Scrum Professional.
During his career, Byron witnessed very talented teams fail, and some seemingly average teams soar. Curious, Byron studied this closely and concluded it was due to team chemistry and excellent leadership that made the difference. Since that early revelation, Byron concentrated his efforts on building interpersonal working relationships, open collaboration, knowledge accumulation and skills mastery as means of building high performing teams. He wants to build teams for your organization that leaders want to retain and team members don't want to leave. He will work with you to tame the chaos, and teach your professionals to work together in the most efficient and effective ways possible - from both the technical and human perspectives.
