Olokun Consulting can help you improve your software development organization’s efficiency and quality by taming the chaos resulting from fast paced software development. We can help your development teams become more agile by adopting Scrum and implementing a Continuous Integration system which in turn shortens the time to delivery, increases quality of the software offering and gives your software teams more ownership and accountability of what they deliver. This often translates into an improvement in work-life balance as well. In short we will help you to become better and more efficient at delivering the products that keep you in business.
Not only does adopting Scrum help with quality and efficiency but can also be a major help to reaching ISO 9001 Certification or moving to the Continuous Improvement level-5 of the Capability and Maturity Model which some customers may require before considering your products. Let us help you tame the chaos and do what you do better.
Chaos is what usually results when there is a lack of understanding of the changes that impact your products. Chaos can result when there is a lack of preparation for these changes. Chaos can be made worse when there is a non-constructive resistance to the changes.
Change is a natural part of life. Change is a natural part of business. Change is a natural part of product development.
In business there is energy. Where there is energy, there is motion, and where there is motion, there is change.
Olokun Consulting will help you understand your products changes, plan for the known changes and implement processes for managing both the known changes and the unknown changes.
Olokun consulting will help you tame the chaos.
In today's world of rising costs, increased cyber threats, and other problems caused by software that needs serious quality improvement, many organizations realize that they need to take action to improve their development processes. Sadly, it is often too difficult for businesses to find the time to devote to identifying and implementing the badly needed improvements. They are left with a chaotic development cycle that relies on individual heroes to pull them through and save the day.
At Olokun Consulting we don't believe that it is wise to rely solely on the efforts of heroes because heroes are unique, hard to scale, and often burn out before the end. (There is also that old "hit by a bus" thing.) Allow Olokun Consulting to come and do some hero work by building solid development teams with repeatable processes that will tame the chaos long term.
When Olokun Consulting leaves your organization, you will no longer have a dependency on heroes as your primary strategy, and be confident that you can deliver predictably with high performing teams and processes.
Although we specialize in software development projects, we can also help organize all types of projects using process frameworks that have been proven to work with everything from household projects to automotive industry manufacturing.
The Scrum framework is what we use. The term "scrum", borrowed from rugby, relates to a 1986 Harvard Business Review paper by Hirotaka Takeuchi and Ikujiro Nonaka where they described a new approach to product development that they called the "rugby approach". The British rugby term "scrummage", refers to getting the ball in play and the authors used case studies from manufacturing firms in the automotive, photocopier, and printer industries as the basis. They observed that teams worked more effectively when they collaborated like a rugby scrum, passing the ball back and forth to move forward. Jeff Sutherland co-created the Scrum framework in 1993 with Ken Schwaber, using the term "scrum" in reference to the Harvard paper. Scrum has since evolved into a popular agile framework that's used to help teams deliver value faster and adapt to changing needs.
